A raincoat will keep your dog dry, warm and cosy in all weathers. We have raincoats that protect your dog from all kinds of precipitation – from mild summer rain to windy autumn showers and snowy winter slush!
All dogs feel best when they are dry and comfortably warm, regardless of weather, temperature or season. But different dogs have different needs when it comes to protection from the elements. Every dog is unique. Hence, "the very best raincoat for dogs" is always the one that is perfectly adapted to your own dog – and that best protects it from the current weather conditions at the location where you happen to find yourselves at the moment.
At Back on Track, we have developed a wide range of raincoats for all types of dogs. And because the well-being of dogs is particularly close to our hearts, we strive to develop the best raincoats on the market, for dogs of all sizes and breeds, from pet pups to busy work dogs.
The material closest to the wearer - in this case; your dog - always contains one of our textile technologies. Thanks to these, the far infrared part of the heat emitted by the body can be captured and reflected back into the tissues. The main therapeutic effect of far infrared energy (FIR) is to stimulate blood flow and thereby relieve stiffness in muscles and joints.
BAY – a new collection
(that includes two exceptional, waterproof raincoats!)
With the new BAY collection, we're setting a whole new standard for high-performance dog coats – with carefully crafted designs and advanced materials, along with the beneficial effects of far infrared energy (FIR).
The BAY coats are designed to envelop the dog's body while still allowing for optimal freedom of movement. This is achieved through a well-shaped, tailored fit around the thighs and chest, as well as a wrap-around opening at the front that allows room for the front legs to move freely.
The coat is available in two different designs depending on whether your dog has a high or low tail set. For dogs with a high tail set, the coat ends with a drawstring at the base of the tail for adjusting the length of the back. For dogs with a low tail set, the garment covers the tail root and has a wrap-around opening also at the back that allows freedom of movement for the tail.
A warm coat for rain, cold and snow
The BAY Thermal Coat enables your dog to face the elements even in demanding conditions. The coat is both lightweight and durable, with a woven, friction-free lining that incorporates our Welltex® technology. This technology helps to keep muscles warm and supple by stimulating circulation and promoting blood flow.
This winter coat is waterproof (10,000 mm) and thermo-quilted, which means that the filling is evenly distributed throughout the garment without seams piercing the waterproof outer fabric. This ensures that rain, wind and snow are effectively kept out, so your dog stays warm, dry and fully protected.

Our thinnest, most light-weight raincoat with the latest technology
The BAY Raincoat is waterproof (10,000 mm), supple, flexible and very light. On the inside, closest to the dog, there is a new and exciting technology: Fusiontex® - printed directly onto the fabric.
Just like our other technologies, this new one serves to harness body heat and reflect far infrared energy (FIR) back into the tissues.
But because Fusiontex® enables printing as a method, it has been possible to make this raincoat remarkably thin, with retained therapeutic properties. It does not need a lining, which would otherwise have been required to include the minerals that absorb and emit FIR.
Fusiontex® also improves the fabric's thermal conductivity, the ability to conduct and distribute heat, contributing to its comfort and performance. Elastic leg straps keep the thin, lightweight fabric in constant contact with the body.

Do dogs really need a raincoat?
Most dogs benefit from a raincoat - or will need one to keep warm - especially those with thin fur, older dogs or dogs that spend long hours outdoors in cold and damp weather.
A wet dog loses body heat faster than a dry one, and some dogs need help staying warm even in mild temperatures. Other dogs have thick, dense fur that resists both cold and wet for relatively long periods of time. Size and build also affect a dog's ability to stay warm: a slender dog with thin fur will quickly become chilled by rain and wind. Similarly, an older dog with stiff joints has a greater need for protection from cold, wind and moisture than a younger dog.
This means that your own dog's characteristics, such as fur quality, age and physique, are crucial for choosing the right dog coat – in addition to external factors such as weather, climate, season and temperature.
A comfortably warm dog has more flexible muscles, more mobile joints and good blood circulation throughout the body. This not only increases well-being, but also reduces the risk of injury and exhaustion.
This effect is actively enhanced by our textile technologies; Welltex®, Iontex® and now also Fusiontex®. Back on Track's dog coats and dog sweaters always contain a textile technology that aims to stimulate blood circulation and thereby promote mobility, endurance and recovery.
Are raincoats for dogs waterproof and breathable?
Back on Track raincoats/rain jackets are made from water-repellent or waterproof materials with high breathability and taped seams, to keep your dog dry without getting too hot. The materials allow air to circulate and wick moisture away from the body, while keeping out rain and humidity.
Back on Track's raincoats and dog sweaters are practical, functional and designed to withstand the Swedish climate.
Every raincoat/dog jacket from Back on Track has a unique combination of high-performance functional materials, carefully crafted design and the beneficial effects of infrared energy (FIR).

BARK is a highly functional all-round coat in water-repellent softshell. The design is developed to provide outstanding freedom of movement, while the coat envelops and protects important muscle groups.

What is the best raincoat for dogs?
The best raincoat is one that suits your dog's unique needs, body shape and fur quality, and not least the weather conditions in which it will be used. Your own dog is always the starting point – and when your friend is comfortably warm, dry and happy even in rain and wind, you've found the right one!
But there are nevertheless a number of common features that characterise all really good, high-quality raincoats. They are made of durable materials that are also breathable. They are functional, easy to use and easy to wash. They have a well-thought-out design and are adjustable, so they can be adapted to your dog's specific body shape and worn without chafing, sitting side-ways or slipping around.
A raincoat should also have reflectors, reflective details or reflective materials that increase your dog's visibility in bad weather, twilight and darkness, as it is important for your dog's safety that it is clearly visible!
Our classic Standard dog coats
– with or without filling, for all body types
Our classic raincoats have protected dogs from the elements for more than a decade and have become everyday favourites among a large group of private dog owners. They have also been used extensively by working dogs belonging to Swedish authorities. It is a trust we are very proud of!
Back on Track's Standard Coats are an easily recognisable classic. In its simplest form, it is a multifunctional, thinner dog coat that protects against rain. A Standard Coat with filling also insulates and keeps your dog warm in cold weather.
Standard coats are available in several styles and many sizes. They are also available in versions for dog breeds with long backs and short legs, such as dachshunds and basset hounds, or particularly slender and delicate builds, such as whippets and greyhounds.
Far Infrared textile technology – an added benefit to all our items
Back on Track's dog jackets, raincoats and dog sweaters feature innovative textile technologies that promotes your dog's well-being. For more than 25 years, our fabrics have contained a unique, powerful blend of minerals, which gives them the ability to absorb and emit body heat in the form of infrared energy (FIR).
This effect is believed to increase well-being by stimulating circulation and blood flow, which in turn has a beneficial effect on stiff joints and tense muscles.
Increased blood flow is also beneficial as it favours the body's own healing processes. Therefore, the effect is often experienced as speeding up recovery and also alleviating problems such as swelling and inflammation.
How do I choose the right size raincoat for my dog?
Back on Track has developed a wide range of multifunctional and versatile dog coats. Some are designed to fit specific body types, such as stockier, muscular dogs, slender greyhounds, very small dogs or dogs with long backs and short legs.
Dogs can also have high or low tail set, which will make some of our models more suitable than others.
Each model comes with a size guide developed by our own pattern makers and designers.
Measure your dog carefully according to our instructions and compare your dog's measurements with the size chart. This will ensure an optimal fit and comfort.
How do you wash a raincoat for dogs?
A dog coat must be easy to keep clean! Our raincoats can all be machine washed with a mild detergent. Avoid fabric softener as it can affect the functional properties of the material.
Always follow the washing instructions on the garment.
